Expression over perfection.

As photographers we are frequently caught up in honing our craft, but we strive for technical perfection to the point that we miss out on the emotion and expression of our subject -- the real reason we stopped, put the camera to our eye, and decided to snap the shutter. Sometimes it's good to throw our perfectionist tendencies aside and immerse ourselves in the moment. Allowing ourselves to embrace the harsh lighting, the missed focus, the extreme grain.

We can always strive for perfection another day.
